Two people died and two people were injured after a series of crashes across the North Island last night and this morning.
Last night, one person died after a single-vehicle crash at Rangitikei in Manawatū-Whanganui.
Police said it was called to the scene on Santoft Road at 9.50pm, where the sole occupant of the vehicle was found deceased.
This morning, a person died in Auckland's Counties Manukau after a single-vehicle crash involving a truck and trailer unit.
Police said the incident, on Logan Road near Pukekohe, was reported at about 7.32am. The sole occupant died at the scene.
In Napier's Greenmeadows, police said one person had been seriously injured after a crash involving a car and a cyclist this morning.
Police were called to the scene on Avondale Road at around 8.24am. The person had received medical treatment and police noted traffic may have been impacted by the incident.
Also this morning, police were called to an incident in Northcote, Auckland where an intermediate-aged child was injured on Onewa Rd.
Police said it was called at 8.26am after reports suggested a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
The child had suffered moderate injuries and was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
