Former Air New Zealand chief executive officer Greg Foran is tipped to lead major US supermarket chain Kroger.
The Wall Street Journal reported an announcement on Foran's appointment could be made as soon as tomorrow.
Foran was the CEO of Air New Zealand from 2020 to 2025, and was succeeded by Nikhil Ravishankar.
Previously, Foran was the president and CEO of Walmart US between 2014 and 2019.
Foran, who was born and raised in New Zealand, had also previously served as the president and CEO of Walmart Asia, and Walmart China.

Kroger was viewed as one of the big four retailers in the US, alongside Walmart, Amazon and Costco.
The company had more than 400,000 employees in 2023 and in excess of 2700 stores across the US.
