One person has been taken to hospital after a shooting in Napier early this morning.
Police said were called at about 3am to a report of a firearm being discharged on Thackery St.
One person was found nearby, with injuries police described as "consistent with a gunshot wound".
They were taken to hospital in moderate condition.
Police said an alleged offender fled the scene in a vehicle, but was later located at an address on Barker St.

A 19-year-old was arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and was due to appear in Napier District Court tomorrow.
Police asked anyone who had witnessed the incident, or had any information, to get in touch via 105 by phone or online.
