Motorists are being warned to expect delays after a motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash on State Highway 3 in Rātana this evening.
Police said the serious crash involving a motorcycle happened on State Highway 3 between Whangaehu Village Rd and Rātana Rd shortly before 4.30pm.
"The rider of the motorbike is being treated for critical injuries," a police spokesperson said.
St John said two ambulances, one rapid response unit and one operations manager responded to the incident.
"Our ambulance crews treated one patient in a serious condition, and transported them to Whanganui Hospital," a spokesperson said.

No detours were available, and motorists were warned to expect delays while the scene was cleared.
