Emilia Clarke spotted at Wellington Seamarket

Emilia Clarke has been spotted in Wellington buying some seafood.

The mother of dragons has been spotted buying some fresh seafood in Wellington.

In a post to Facebook, Wellington Seamarket said Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke had picked up some blue cod after her recent arrival to Aotearoa.

The 39-year-old, most known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO series, was pictured alongside a worker from the market.

"When Emilia Clarke saw how good our seafood looked, she immediately jumped on a plane to New Zealand," the fishmonger joked.

"She grabbed some blue cod, fresh out of the water this morning. Thanks for coming in, mother of dragons, we hope the long journey was worth it."

Earlier this month, Clarke appeared on the Today Show in the US where she asked former Game of Thrones co-star Jason Momoa where she should visit when she touches down in New Zealand.

"You definitely want to go to a marae, and you want to meet some of the, you know, go to one of the iwi," Momoa said at the time.

He also told her he would call her to give her the rest of his tips, and didn't want to share them on TV "so everyone in New Zealand lets me back home".

Clarke is in New Zealand filming for an unannounced project. In an interview published on TheWrap earlier this month, Clarke teased her next project would be a "dark" and "extremely uncomfortable" movie.
