Driver flees after car hits building in central Auckland

Inquiries are ongoing to locate a man who fled the scene of a single-vehicle crash in central Auckland this morning.

Police said a vehicle collided with the side of a building just after the Wellesley Street West intersection on Hobson Street at about 10am.

The driver then fled the area.

No pedestrians were injured as a result of the crash, which police noted was a busy area.

Inquiries are ongoing to locate the man, and emergency services are working to clear the scene.
