Police at incident scene.

Police have recovered a machete and baseball bat from a stolen car after a teenage boy was seriously wounded at the scene of a fight between two groups of young people in West Auckland last night.

Officers were called to Sunvue Rd in the suburb of Glen Eden about 11.55pm, following reports of a disorder incident and "a fight between two groups of young people".

When they arrived, the groups had dispersed, but police found a teenage boy with a serious wound to his arm, Acting Detective Inspector Megan Goldie said.

"Inquiries are ongoing to identify the offender," she said.

The injured teen was transported to Auckland City Hospital in moderate condition by St John, which was called to nearby Libra St at 11.57pm.

"Police later stopped a stolen car with seven youths inside and during a search of the vehicle located a machete and a baseball bat," Goldie said.

"The investigation is in its early stages and police are speaking with those involved."

Police are appealing for witnesses who haven't yet come forward, or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the Sunvue Rd or Libra St area between 11.45pm and 12.15am.
