A recall has been issued for a batch of Charcuterie Du Pacifique Sud's L'Authentique brand Chicken & Duck Parfait due to a failure of food safety controls.

"The concern with this product is that it has been produced without the required food safety controls being followed," NZ Food Safety director food risk management Jenny Bishop said.

"L'Authentique Chicken & Duck Parfait (100g) with a use-by date of 24/08/26 should not be eaten."

The affected products were sold in glass jars at supermarkets and retailers nationwide.

"There have been no reports of associated illness. However, if you have consumed any of this product and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice," the Ministry for Primary Industries said on its website.

Consumers could return the product at the place of purchase for a full refund.

The recall did not affect any other L'Authentique brand products.
