The police dive squad this morning found a body in the Waikato River believed to be that of a swimmer missing since Saturday – after yesterday finding a vehicle with another body inside believed to be that of a man missing since August.
Hamilton City area commander Inspector Neil Faulkner said police believed the latest body found was that of 25-year-old man Teananga Tiotia, who was reported missing after getting into trouble near Graham Island on Saturday afternoon.
He said the body was found just after 10am. The family was notified soon after.
"Our condolences are with the loved ones of Teananga at this difficult time."

While searching for Tiotia yesterday, police discovered a vehicle with a body inside. It was believed to be 39-year-old Aydan Brown.
Brown was reported missing from the Hamilton suburb of Chartwell on August 17 2025.
"Police notified his family yesterday evening, and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time," Faulkner said.
Formal identification processes were underway for both cases, and the deaths had been referred to the coroner.
