A woman who died near a geyser in Waiotapu, south of Rotorua, days before Christmas has been named by police.
She was Briar Stockley, 42, of Rotorua.
Emergency services were alerted after Stockley was pulled from the water unresponsive near Waiotapu Loop Rd, close to the Lady Knox Geyser, shortly after 6am on December 21.
"Police extend our condolences to Briar’s loved ones over their loss."
The death has been referred to the coroner after it was determined to not be suspicious.
