Multiple people injured in two-vehicle crash in Far North

A number of people have suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash in the Far North this morning.

Police said emergency services were called to Lamb Rd in Pukenui shortly before 8am.

"Our ambulance crews have assessed and treated 13 patients whose conditions range between minor and serious."

Eight people were being transported to Kaitaia Hospital, while two were airlifted to Whangārei Hospital.

Fire and Emergency NZ said it sent two trucks from Houhora to assist at the scene.
