A driver was found dead after their vehicle crashed at a Waikato intersection in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to the single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Orini Rd and McConnell Rd, Orini, around 12.30am.
The sole occupant of the vehicle was found deceased at the scene.
Orini Rd was closed overnight between Rutherford Rd and Tenfoot Rd while police's serious crash unit examined the scene.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing, police said.

In a separate crash, one person died following a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 2 in Tangoio, Hawke's Bay on Tuesday.
Police were called to the crash just after 11.40am.
The sole occupant died at the scene.
State Highway 2 has since reopened.
