A person has died following a single-vehicle crash north of Napier just before noon today.
Police said they were alerted to the crash on State Highway 2 in Tangoio just after 11.40am.
"The sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene," a police spokesperson said.
SH2 was closed for several hours but had since re-opened.
It comes as a man died of his injuries days after he was struck by a car in Napier on Boxing Day.

The man was critically injured following the incident on McGrath St around 10.10pm on December 26.
He died of his injuries on Monday.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident were ongoing.
It brings the holiday road toll to two.
