A man has died in hospital after being struck by a car in Napier on Friday night.
Police said the pedestrian was critically injured when he was hit on McGrath St at around 10.10pm on December 26.
He was taken to hospital but died yesterday, bringing the official Christmas holiday road toll to one.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who provided assistance to the man before emergency services arrived to come forward.
"Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time," police said.
