A family are appealing for help from the public after a Kiwi man reportedly went missing in Vietnam last week.
Hanh Chi Nguyen was last seen on December 22 around 6.30pm at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, according to a post shared to Instagram by his three daughters.
The post said Nguyen, who also went by Tai ("dai") or Jimmy, was meant to return from Vietnam to Auckland at 9.20pm alongside his wife and daughters, but they were unable to contact him.
"We’re posting this out of desperation to find out whether he’s safe. If anyone has any relevant information at all or can support, please reach out," the post caption read.
A spokesperson from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said they were aware of the case involving a missing New Zealander in Vietnam.
"For privacy reasons no further information will be provided," the spokesperson said.
A police spokesperson told 1News it was aware of the matter but had not received a request for support from Vietnamese authorities.
"We would of course provide whatever support we can, should we get such a request."
