A person has been seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash in Upper Hutt this evening.
Emergency services are at the scene at the intersection of State Highway 2 and Waterworks Rd in Kaitoke.
Police said they were alerted to the incident around 6.35pm.
"Initial indications are that one person is seriously injured," a police spokesperson said.
"The road is blocked at the intersection, which will likely cause significant delays in both directions."

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area if possible.
