A member of the public has suffered minor injuries after a crash involving a fire truck rushing to an emergency callout in Auckland’s CBD this morning.
Police said they were called to the two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Hobson St and Victoria St West at 9.38am.
Fire and Emergency NZ confirmed the truck was responding to a fire alarm alert when the crash occurred.
“There were no injuries to FENZ members and one member of the public received minor injuries and was treated by St John on scene,” a spokesperson said.
The fire truck remained at the scene awaiting a tow truck. The second vehicle, a small car, came to a stop after hitting a pole outside a block of shops on Victoria St West. Its front end was visibly damaged.
Police were managing traffic around the intersection while investigations continued.
