A lucky Auckland Lotto player is waking up millions of dollars richer after winning $5.5 million in last night’s Powerball draw.
The winning ticket was sold at New World Green Bay, with the prize consisting of $5 million from Powerball First Division and $500,000 from Lotto First Division.
The winning numbers were 2, 19, 27, 26, 14 and 23. The bonus ball was 7 and the Powerball was 3.
The win makes the ticketholder the 21st Powerball multi-millionaire this year and comes just a week after a Whangārei player took home $6.2m.
Another Lotto player also struck it lucky on Saturday night, winning $500,000 with Lotto First Division. That winning ticket was sold at Four Square Houhora Wharf in Kaitaia.
Meanwhile, Strike Four rolled over and will be worth $700,000 on Wednesday night.
Lotto NZ said its Christmas promotion was now under way, with an extra $6 million in prizes available to be won.
That included one $1 million prize and 100 prizes of $50,000, with Triple Dip tickets purchased before January 3 eligible to be entered.
Anyone who bought a ticket from the winning stores was urged to check their tickets in-store, online, or via the MyLotto app.
