One seriously injured in SH2 crash near Petone, northbound lane shut

A single-vehicle crash has closed State Highway 2 northbound near Petone, leaving a person with serious injuries, police say.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 5.17am, where the injured person received medical attention.

Police's serious crash unit has been notified of the incident.

One southbound lane remains open, but motorists are being warned to expect heavy delays in the area.
