SUMMER SERIES: Kiwis recommend their favourite beach, a book to read on it, and a song that encapsulates summer.
My choice of summer song would be: He's Misstra Know-It-All, Stevie Wonder
It's a song that's been around since 1974 but I only recently heard it and instantly loved it. Great tempo, perfect to pump up and get that cocktail shaker shaking. Margarita? Yes please.

A great book to read on the beach is: Here One Moment, by Liane Moriarty
An old woman, maybe a fortune teller, wanders down a plane telling each passenger what age they will die and how it will happen. Now the passengers have received this information, how will they deal with it and will it change the way they live their lives? What transpires is both fascinating and, in some cases, very amusing. It's an easy summer read with a great plot.

One of the best beaches in Aotearoa would have to be: Okupe Beach, Helena Bay, Northland
Nothing thrills me more than being the first to walk a beach in the morning and that's what you can always do at Okupe. Difficult access keeps the crowds away but it's worth the walk and the effort to get there. Money back guarantee.
