A man sought in relation to the alleged murder of two people at a property in rural Ruatiti has handed himself in to police.
The victims were formally identified today as 56-year-old Brendon Leigh Cole and 54-year-old Trina Michelle Cole.
A homicide investigation was launched following the deaths of the pair on Saturday, December 13.
Ruatiti is located near the Whanganui National Park, around 21km southwest of Waimarino (National Park).
Central District Commander Superintendent Dion Bennett said a 29-year-old man presented himself to Whanganui Police Station around 1.30pm this afternoon.
He was arrested on an active warrant, and was due to appear in the Whanganui District Court tomorrow.
"Police on ground in the area will now be making further enquiries in the investigation," Bennett said.
"Police thank the public for their patience and support."
