A person has been injured after a house fire engulfed a Mairehau property in Christchurch this morning.
Fire and Emergency crews were called to the blaze on Kellys Rd just before 5am, finding the house well ablaze on arrival.
Four fire crews from Christchurch City Station, Redwood and Anzac attended the incident. The fire has been contained but three crews remain on site working to fully extinguish and dampen the blaze, according to FENZ.
St John said it responded with one ambulance and a rapid response vehicle.
"One patient was assessed and was transported to Christchurch Hospital in a moderate condition," a St John spokesperson said.
A fire investigator is responding to the scene.
