A police statement described the offending as occurring at around 2:30pm Saturday on Lake Road.

Two people have been arrested after a pair of teenagers were allegedly robbed of their e-bikes at knifepoint on Auckland's North Shore over the weekend.

Police said the incident occurred on Lake Rd in the suburb of Belmont at around 2.30pm on Saturday.

Two teenagers riding their e-bikes were confronted by two people who pulled up next to them in a vehicle with a male passenger demanding the bikes and threatening them with a knife, said Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Williams.

"The man has then allegedly pushed one of the victims off the bike before assaulting him and riding off on the bike.

"Officers have then made a number of enquiries and were able to confirm a registration for the vehicle."

Search warrants were carried out at properties in Belmont and Ōtara on Monday, with two people arrested at the Ōtara property.

Williams said several stolen items were located at the address.

"However enquiries remain ongoing to locate the bike."

A 28-year-old man will appear in North Shore District Court today charged with aggravated robbery and three counts of shoplifting.

A 31-year-old woman charged with resisting police, assaulting police and failing to carry out obligations in relation to a computer search will appear in North Shore District Court tomorrow.
