UK police declared a major incident after a sinkhole opened up under a canal, draining part of it and leaving several narrowboats stranded.
No casualties have been reported and around a dozen people have been evacuated from boats nearby, Sky News reported.

Emergency services were at the scene in the English county of Shropshire and have asked people to avoid the Chemistry area of Whitchurch where the sinkhole appeared, according to Sky News.
Drone footage broadcast by Sky News showed at least two narrowboats inside the roughly 50m by 50m sinkhole and others stranded in shallow waters, with nearby land flooded.
