It will be a Christmas to remember for a lucky Powerball player from Whangārei, after winning $6.2 million with Lotto's Powerball First Division.
The winning numbers were 17, 14, 31, 2, 33 and 19. The Bonus Ball was 9 and the Powerball was 1.
The winning ticket was sold on MyLotto to a player from Whangārei. The prize was made up of $6 million from Powerball First Division and $200,000 from Lotto First Division.
Last night's winner was the twentieth Powerball multi-millionaire this year, and the win followed a Nelson player's $16 million win last week.
Four other lucky Lotto players won $200,000 each with Lotto First Division.
The winning tickets were sold at Shree Superette in Auckland, Four Square Raumati Beach in Paraparaumu, and on MyLotto to players from Auckland and Waikato.
Meanwhile, a lucky Strike player from Auckland would be celebrating after winning $200,000 with Strike Four.
Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above stores was urged to check their ticket in-store, on MyLotto, or through the MyLotto App.
"We know our products are a favourite festive gift, so we’re reminding customers to gift responsibly this Christmas by ensuring they’re only given to adults," a Lotto NZ spokesperson said.
