A homicide investigation was launched in Hamilton last night after a man died of his injuries.
Police were called to a Lake Crescent property at around 6.15pm after reports that a person had been injured.
"Shortly after arrival, Police located a second person at the address who had a serious injury to their arm," Detective Senior Sergeant Stephen Ambler said.
The initial victim died at the scene.
The other person was in a stable condition at Waikato Hospital.
"Cordons remain in place at the address as Police work to determine who was involved and to locate them," Ambler said.
"Residents in the area can expect to see a Police presence for the time being while we progress these enquiries."
