A person has been found dead following a fire in Auckland's Mt Roskill in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called to the Katavich Place at around 1.54am.
FENZ sent one fire truck from Mt Roskill to respond to the blaze.
"Upon arrival, the fire was extinguished, and a person was located deceased," Detective Senior Sergeant Anthony Darvill said.
A scene guard was in place, and police investigators were determining the circumstances of the fire.
"However, at this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained," Darvill said.
"Further information will be provided when we are in a position to do so."
