Jordie Barrett to miss rest of northern tour through injury

Jordie Barrett winces in pain after hurting his leg during the All Blacks' win over Ireland.

All Blacks midfielder Jordie Barrett has been ruled out of the rest of the northern tour after being injured during the team's Test win against Ireland on Sunday.

Barrett and his brother Scott were both early casualties in the All Blacks’ 26-13 victory over Ireland in Chicago.

Scott's leg was cut by a sprig, while Jordie suffered a high ankle injury and a minor knee injury. Both injuries occurred within the first half.

The All Blacks confirmed this morning that Jordie would be returning to New Zealand and would miss the rest of the tour.

He will return to New Zealand tomorrow morning to begin his rehabilitation with the Hurricanes medical team.

Scott will miss Sunday's clash with Scotland.

“We’ll see how long that takes [to heal], but it’s a decent one,” head coach Scott Robertson said earlier in the week.

The morning's headlines in 90 seconds, including the Police Commissioner’s opinion on publishing leaked audio, two charged over a barbershop attack, and David Beckham and the King swap fashion tips. (Source: 1News)
