A Melbourne woman has been charged following the theft of wigs for children with cancer last month.
The 45-year-old allegedly entered a business on Lennox St around 3.30pm on September 22.
The woman allegedly placed four wigs into her jacket and a bag before leaving the store, accompanied by a man waiting outside for her.
"The wigs were in the reception area as they were about to be taken to hospital to be given to children with cancer," Victoria Police said.
The woman was arrested this morning after police searched a property in Clayton South.
The 45-year-old would be appearing at the Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on October 30 charged with theft and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
A police investigation was ongoing.
