Sponge rounds and Taser stop armed, fleeing driver in Bay of Plenty

Tauranga police finally caught a 36-year-old fleeing driver using non-lethal sponge rounds and a Taser this morning.

Officers were initially called to an address in Bethlehem after a person reported a relative being shot at shortly after 8am. The series of events finally ended when the driver was stopped 15km away.
