New Te Pāti Māori MP Oriini Kaipara is set to give her maiden speech in Parliament this afternoon.

Kaiapara (Tūhoe, Ngāti Awa, Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Rangitihi) became a MP after winning the Tāmaki Makaurau by-election in September following the death of Takutai Tarsh Kemp.

A former broadcaster and journalist, Kaiapara has previously worked for TVNZ, Mai FM, Māori Television and Three.
