The past week has seen two new initiatives that would shake up youth benefit rules announced, with stricter rules for accessing Jobseeker Support for 18-and 19-year-olds while others could earn an $1000 bonus for staying in work for a year.
A major defence industry strategy was unveiled by Defence Minister Judith Collins and Associate Minister Chris Penk on Friday, aimed at doubling spending and growing Kiwi firms to future-proof the NZDF and boost economic opportunities.
The Government also outlined moves to tackle energy sector issues and the announced a funding injection for a covered roof project at Auckland's Stanley St tennis venue.
Luxon was due to speak at around 4pm.
