The future of Dame Noeline Taurua as Silver Ferns coach remains uncertain, with Netball New Zealand (NNZ) confirming a resolution has not yet been reached ahead of the Constellation Cup series against Australia later this month.
In a statement today, NNZ said that despite "considerable and genuine effort" from both parties, they have been unable to come to an agreement regarding the Silver Ferns’ high performance programme and environment.
Dame Noeline was stood down as coach on September 10, ahead of the Taini Jamison series.
The decision followed ongoing discussions between NNZ, Dame Noeline and Silver Ferns management over proposed changes to the high-performance programme, which could not be resolved in time for the series.
"Over the past few weeks NNZ has pursued every pathway with Dame Noeline to bring her back into the Silver Ferns environment at this time. NNZ is disappointed that this has not been possible," the organisation said.
NNZ said that it understands there will be questions about the process and strong interest in the team’s future leadership but said it would not be making further comments.
Yvette McCausland-Durie will remain as interim head coach for the Constellation Cup and Northern Tour, with former Fern Liana Leota continuing as assistant coach.
The Constellation Cup series is set to begin on October 17.
