'Please let us know you're OK': Mother's appeal to missing woman

Te Anihana Beau Pomana was last seen leaving SkyCity in central Auckland.

The mother of a missing woman last seen in Auckland more than two weeks ago has made a plea for her daughter to be returned home safely.

Te Anihana Beau Pomana, 25, was last seen leaving SkyCity on August 21 at around 5.06am on August 21, having left all her belongings at the hotel. Police said she was heading onto Victoria St West the last time she was seen.

The day prior, she was seen on CCTV boarding a WX1 bus to Henderson from Hobson St at 6.37pm. She is believed to have travelled to Lincoln Rd, and then returned to the city. Police said she had whānau in the Henderson area.

Today, Pomana's mother, Catherine Anderson, travelled from Dunedin to help with the search for her daughter.

"We are here because we are determined to find her," Anderson said.

She described Pomana as a "much-loved daughter, sister, aunty, niece, friend and mokopuna".

"We want to find her, take her home, and keep her safe."

"As a mother", she appealed to anyone who had information about her daughter's whereabouts to call the police.

She said Pomana may be in Auckland, "but we do know she has travelled extensively since mid-July".

Anderson said her daughter had visited Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland, Kaeo, Kerikeri and wider Northland.

"Someone must have seen her."

She then appealed to her daughter: "Te Anihana, if you see this, we all love you, and we miss you.

"Please let us know that you're OK."

Detective Senior Sergeant Martin Friend

Pomana checked into the hotel on August 18 and had no known associates in central Auckland.

On August 29, police released CCTV footage of the woman leaving the hotel and said there were "grave concerns" for her well-being.

She was described as having a thin build, standing at around 154cm tall, with curly black hair and tattoos.

Detective Senior Sergeant Martin Friend said that at this stage "there's nothing to suggest she is the victim of foul play".

"However, we are incredibly concerned for her, and she has not been seen now for over two weeks."

Despite scouring CCTV footage in search of the woman, Friend said police "just do not know" what happened to her.

"It's like she's disappeared essentially."

Friend said "to the best of our knowledge" the woman was not carrying a phone, and said she may have some access to some cash.

He said police had reason to believe she was "linking up with her heritage", and contacting marae in Northland.

"Her heritage seems to be marae up in Northland, however, we've got no recent sightings of her heading in that direction."

Friend said police had contacted marae in the area, but had heard "nothing at this stage".
