All Blacks winger Caleb Clarke out of France Test with injury

Caleb Clarke in Dunedin,

All Blacks wing Caleb Clarke has been ruled out the second Test against France — and likely the rest of the series — after hurting his ankle at training.

In a statement today, the All Blacks said Clarke suffered a high ankle injury at training yesterday, ruling him out of tomorrow's Test in Wellington.

He was undergoing scans, but was likely to miss next week's third Test as well.

"Emoni Narawa, who was named in the squad as injury cover, will start on the right wing in Wellington on Saturday night, while Rieko Ioane shifts to the left wing."

Clarke had been offered the opportunity to start after missing the squad for the first Test in Dunedin.

Scott Barrett has also been ruled out of the series after suffering a calf injury in the first Test victory in Dunedin.
