A California warehouse storing fireworks has exploded in a massive blast, sparking a vegetation fire and evacuations.
The explosion happened close to the communities of Esparto and Madison in northern California at around 6pm on Tuesday (local time).
The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office described the detonation as "significant".
Video footage from the scene captured fireworks whizzing through the air and exploding.
"A warehouse storing fireworks exploded and is still actively burning," the sheriff’s office said in a social media post.
"We urge everyone to avoid the area so that fire crews and emergency responders can safely do their work."
A one-mile evacuation area was placed around the scene of the blast.
It was unclear whether anyone had been injured in the explosion.
