1 Narendra Modi alleges 'anti-India activity' by 'illegal elements' in New Zealand
India Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised a few eyebrows during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Christopher Luxon by calling out what he described as “anti-India activities” deriving from “some illegal elements” in New Zealand.
It’s believed Modi was referring to what’s known as the Khalistan movement, which is pushing for a homeland for Sikhs in India.

Protesters stormed the Te Atatū Community Centre and Library during a children's event hosted by a drag king on February 15.
3 Consultation at Shortland Street about jobs after cuts to episodes
Consultation is being held with staff working on Shortland Street, which is now being screened three nights a week instead of five.
TVNZ confirmed to 1News that South Pacific Pictures, the producers of the long-running soap, had "entered into consultation with individuals who are part of the Shortland Street production and on permanent employment contracts".
4 ACT looks to stand candidates in local council elections
ACT leader David Seymour says the party is seeking expressions of interest from New Zealanders to stand for their local council under the party's banner.
This would mark the first time ACT has sought to put forward candidates in local government elections.

Israel’s defence minister says Israel has “resumed fighting” in Gaza and is vowing to press ahead until all remaining hostages are released.
In a brief statement, Defence Minister Israel Katz said “the gates of hell will open in Gaza” if hostages aren’t released.
