Moana Pasifika have been forced to move their match against the Chiefs that was scheduled to be played in Tonga to Auckland's Pukekohe due to "logistical challenges".
The match was due to be played in Nuku’alofa later this month.
"Our hearts are in the Pacific and that is where we want to be but it wasn’t possible for this fixture due to things that were out of our hands," Moana Pasifika chief executive Debbie Sorensen said.
"It’s sad to say that we can’t make it happen this time but are already looking at how we can take a game to Tonga in 2026."
Chiefs CEO Simon Graafhuis said the Chiefs had been "really looking forward to playing in Tonga".
"We are supportive of playing there in 2026 if Moana Pasifika schedule another home game in Nuku’alofa.
"Playing in the Pacific Islands is always a highlight for us."
The match will instead be held at Navigation Homes Stadium on March 21 – the first of two home games at the ground in 2025.
They will play the Brumbies there on April 19.
Moana Pasifika currently sit bottom of the Super Rugby Pacific table after three rounds.
