A suspected arsonist was forced to quickly strip off their burning clothes after a mishap while attempting to set a Melbourne shop on fire early on Christmas morning.
Emergency services were called to a fire at a fast-food store off Doncaster Rd in Doncaster around 2.40am on December 25.
CCTV footage released today by Victoria Police shows a pair allegedly pouring a flammable liquid over the front of the store before setting it alight.
"After setting the liquid alight, one of the offenders also succeeded in setting their pants on fire, forcing them to strip their burning garments as they fled," Victoria Police said today on Facebook.
The pair were then seen leaving in a white Toyota Tarago driven by a third person.
