A person has died following a "vehicle incident" in Napier yesterday evening.
Emergency services were called to Nuffield Avenue in Marewa at around 9pm, where a person was found in a critical condition.
"Efforts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful, and he died at the scene," police said.
The serious crash unit was called to the scene, and an examination was conducted.
"Inquiries into the cause of the incident are ongoing," police said.

The road was blocked overnight but has since reopened.
