Wellington Phoenix forward Stefan Colakovski will play no further part in his team's A-League campaign after suffering a season-ending knee injury.
The 24-year-old announced the injury in an Instagram post. He wrote: "Tore my ACL and will be out for the season.
"Devastated, but within difficulty lies opportunity," he added.
"Surgery soon and then full focus on getting back as quickly as possible."
Colakovski ruptured his ACL in his left knee during a training session on Sunday morning.
Wellington Phoenix head coach Giancarlo Italiano said he is devastated for Colakovski.
"We all feel for Cola." Italiano said. "He's fitted seamlessly into the squad and has become a popular member of the dressing room in no time.
"We were also starting to see glimpses of what he was capable of on the pitch as he got up to speed following his late arrival.
“We wish Cola all the best with his rehab and we’re sure he’ll come back stronger than ever.”
Colakovski signed for the Phoenix from Perth Glory late in pre-season and has made six appearances off the bench this season, but is yet to score a goal for his new club.
He made his debut for the Phoenix against his former club in Perth in late October.
The Phoenix will be looking to make amends this weekend after losing back-to-back matches, and will take on the Western Sydney Wanderers in Sydney on Sunday.
