One dead in single-vehicle crash on Auckland's Great South Road

Emergency services responded to a two-vehicle crash between Belmont Rd and Murphys Rd at around 4.40pm. (Source: 1News)

One person has died in a single vehicle crash on Great South Road this morning.

Police said the road remains closed, with diversions in place, while the Serious Crash Unit examines the scene.

"Please continue to avoid the area if possible."

Hato Hone St John was notified of the crash at 10.57am and responded with one ambulance and one rapid response unit, a spokesperson said.
