Coldplay singer Chris Martin has taken a tumble on-stage in Melbourne, falling into an open trapdoor, drawing gasps from the audience.
The British band were playing their final show in the city last night when the incident occurred.
Martin was addressing fans while walking backwards at Marvel Stadium when he stepped into the open hatch.
Footage from the concert showed hands emerging from the hatch and apparently catching the superstar before he could come to any harm.
"That's, uh, not planned," he said after clambering back out. "Thank you for catching me, so much.
"Thank you guys, holy s**t. That was nearly a YouTube moment.
"It probably will be a YouTube moment. And what a great one."
Pop star Olivia Rodrigo suffered a similar trapdoor tumble at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena — also during her final show in the city.
Coldplay's tour continues with stops in Sydney ahead of shows at Eden Park in Auckland next Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
