The newly crowned world champion White Ferns have very little time to celebrate their success, before embarking on their next challenge — a three-game one-day series against India at Ahmedabad.
Otago wicketerkeeper Polly Inglis — sister of NZ hockey international Hugo Inglis — has been summoned for possible debut, after consistent performances for her province and NZ 'A', while Auckland better Lauren Downs will return to the squad, after maternity break.
"We're really excited to introduce Polly for her first tour," said coach Ben Sawyer. "She put her hand up in last season’s Hallyburton Johnstone Shield one-day competition and throughout the New Zealand A series against England, so it's a great next step for her."
Of the squad that took out the T20 World Cup final at Dubai, pace-bowler Rosemary Mair and spinner Leigh Kasperek have been omitted, with Mair still nursing a back injury suffered earlier this year.

"It's been an amazing 24 hours for this group," said Sawyer. "We're relishing the win, but when we get to India, we’ll need to refocus and set our sights on the next challenge."
The NZ women entered the T20 tournament on a 10-game losing streak, but put their campaign on course with an opening 58-run win over India in poolplay. The home team will be hungry for payback.
"Touring India is one of the great experiences in world cricket," said Sawyer. "It's such a special place to come and I know everyone is looking forward to the challenge ahead.
"Alongside trying to win the series, the tour will serve as important preparation for next year’s ODI World Cup in India."
The one-day series begins 9pm Thursday (NZ time), followed by fixtures on Sunday and Tuesday.
