Bodycam footage has today been released that captured the arrest of a man suspected of carrying out an attempted assassination of former US president Donald Trump.
Ryan Wesley Routh camped outside a Florida golf course with food and a rifle for nearly 12 hours, court documents said.
Trump had made a late decision to play a Sunday round (local time) on the West Palm Beach course where Routh was allegedly lying in wait.
Secret Service officers spotted Routh in shrubbery outside the course with a rifle, a couple of holes ahead of where Trump was playing, authorities said.
Shots were fired by law enforcement and Routh was taken into custody unharmed.
This morning, footage of the arrest was released by Florida law enforcement that shows officers with weapons drawn yelling at Routh to move toward them slowly.
Routh appeared unfazed, wearing a pink shirt with his hands raised above his head.
Routh appeared in court today charged with federal gun crimes including possessing a firearm despite a prior felony conviction and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
The Justice Department did not allege that he fired any shots.
It comes after a bullet grazed Trump's ear on July 13 after a 20-year-old gunman was able to gain access to an unsecured roof during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
