An officer has been injured after being struck by a getaway car during a bungled ATM heist in Adelaide in the early hours of yesterday morning.
CCTV footage shows two alleged thieves, armed with a sledgehammer and an angle grinder, breaking into X Convenience store in Golden Grove around 3am, Nine reports.
Three officers arrived on the scene as the pair were cutting through the machine with the angle grinder.
In the ensuing chaos, one alleged thief fled on foot before being arrested while the other jumped into the getaway car as an officer attempted to grab them.
The vehicle was then put into reverse, hitting the officer, before fleeing the scene.
The vehicle, which had been stolen, was found abandoned with the angle grinder inside.
A 48-year-old man left behind by the driver is due to appear in court next month charged with attempted robbery.
