Police are appealing for the public's help after a crash in Hawke's Bay last night caused "extensive damage" before the car involved "fled the area".
The car struck a barrier, multiple fences and a power box on Haumoana Rd, Hastings at about 8pm yesterday, causing the area to be without power for "some time", police said.
"Following the incident the vehicle has fled the area."
Police said it is now looking for the "red car, which is believed to have considerable damage to the left hand side, and its driver".
Anyone with information was encouraged to call police on 105.
