August 28, 2024

Thrill seekers at SeaWorld on Queensland's Gold Coast were left hanging yesterday after the ride they were on stopped working midway through.

Thirteen passengers were trapped onboard the ride which stopped shortly before 2.30pm (local time) on Tuesday.

They were suspended approximately 15m in the air until being freed just over two hours later, at around 4pm.

A cherry picker delivered them water and shelter as staff and emergency services worked on a plan to free them.

"I thought it was going to drop again," one passenger told 9News.

Queensland Ambulance Paramedics were on standby while the Queensland Fire Department helped with the rescue, 9News reported.

The media outlet reported the incident came just days afterabout 20 people were trapped on a Sea World rollercoaster for almost an hour.
