A 25-year-old man has been arrested after a stash of cannabis worth an estimated $1.2 million was found in a storage unit in East Auckland.
Auckland City East Area Prevention Manager Inspector Rachel Dolheguy said 63kg of packaged cannabis was discovered after the Mt Wellington Public Safety Team searched a storage unit.
She said a man was located at the unit when police arrived.
"All up around 63 kilograms of packaged cannabis was recovered, which has an estimated street value of $1.2 million."
Dolheguy said officers arrested the 25-year-old man at the scene and he was expected to appear in the Auckland District Court today charged with possessing cannabis plant to supply.
She said further inquiries would be carried out, and further arrests could not be ruled out.
"Police will continue to disrupt and prosecute groups involved in the manufacture and distribution of illicit substances."
