Fire and Emergency New Zealand have been called to the scene of a "small external fire" in Queenstown this morning.
FENZ said it was called to the Church St and Camp St blaze at around 7.30am this morning. Three crews are on the scene, with 12 firefighters on site currently.
The fire is outside a building in the CBD area.
It has been categorised as a second alarm fire, which requests more units to assist FENZ.
It is the first day of the Queenstown Winter Games, bringing people from around the world for two weeks of snow sports.
Pride celebrations co-inciding with the start of the games were yesterday marred by the theft of numerous "rainbow" flags, also in the downtown Queenstown precinct.
